A Different Backdrop For Deep Work

Nepal is what remote work was supposed to feel like: mornings at a café with Himalayan light, focused hours on fiber internet, and weekends that start with a hike instead of a scroll. Kathmandu and Pokhara both run reliable coworking spaces, strong coffee, and a community of founders, engineers, and creators passing through.

EcoTourNepal handles the on-the-ground part — airport pickup, monthly-stay accommodation, SIM and internet setup, and a local contact on WhatsApp whenever you need one — so your first week is productive, not logistical.

Who It's For

  • Remote workers and software engineers
  • Founders building in a quieter place
  • Creators and consultants
  • Small remote teams testing a base abroad

Where You'll Work

Kathmandu gives you the capital's coworking spaces, cafés, and heritage at your doorstep; Lalitpur and Bhaktapur put you inside living Newari towns. Pokhara trades bustle for lakeside calm with the Annapurnas on the horizon. For resets, Nagarkot and Bandipur offer mountain-view workdays, and several trekking villages now have internet good enough for a working week above the clouds.

  • Kathmandu — coworking, cafés, and culture
  • Pokhara Lakeside — lake mornings, mountain views
  • Lalitpur & Bhaktapur — heritage-town living
  • Nagarkot & Bandipur — hill-station resets
  • Mountain villages with dependable internet

The Work-Life Rhythm

The UTC+5:45 time zone overlaps mornings with Asia-Pacific and evenings with Europe; US teams typically shift to early calls and free afternoons. Most stays settle into a rhythm of focused weekdays and ambitious weekends — a sunrise viewpoint, a paragliding morning, or a short trek that starts an hour from your desk.

Frequently asked questions

How good is the internet, really?

Kathmandu and Pokhara run fiber in most accommodation we arrange, typically 50–300 Mbps, with 4G/5G data as backup. We test the connection of every workcation stay before you arrive and always set up a second option.

How long can I stay?

Tourist visas are issued on arrival for up to 90 days and can be extended to 150 days per calendar year. We will walk you through the renewal process when your dates are set.

What does a workcation cost compared to Europe or Bali?

Comfortable monthly living — private room, coworking, food, and weekend trips — typically runs well below Western European or Bali digital-nomad budgets. Tell us your style and we will quote a real monthly number.
